that's where i live in first video. Poughkeepsie ny,
Ny is full of some of the bitchiest people on the planet. (moved here 10 years ago from PA)
I've been in between two neighbors ready to fight over a 7 dollar plant along a property line. paid us 2500 to determine who owned the plant even though the guy had receipt for it from 3 days earlier. (was still in pot)
you cant make this stuff up.
it's really was has kept us going in business, then a few years ago they introduced dutchess county parcel access, then the border wars really came out over sheds and garages!!!!
Alot of old money that got left to the crazier kids.
Connecticut is just about the same.

The craziest range war I was personally involved with lasted 24 months. Survey fees exceeded 15K and the legal fees could have been 10 times that.
All over 55' of 6' wooden security fence, that encroached 0.25'...in a few places.
We measured post diameters and shot both sides of the fence, top and bottom, with a peanut prism. I personally prepared an exhaustive 1" = 1' drawing. If I had known my client had such deep pockets, I would have purchased a laser scanner for the job.
Although my client prevailed, the court felt he was maliciously negligent for removing the neighbor's volunteer trumpet vine from the fence. That cost him 5K.
The fence stayed where it was at.
The product of the suit was:
1. Attorney's with fatter pockets.
2. A "DON'T ANSWER" number on my cell phone.
3. Two neighbors that hate each other even more than ever.
It was the stupidest and most immature law suit I have ever seen.
You're right, I couldn't have made up a crazier story if I tried.
I was involved in one that took about 10 years to make its way through the court system after all the appeals. Long story short, a shared driveway was involved. The two guys pretty much hated each other by the end of this saga.
That's 75% of my work. Sometimes it's before a blowup and sometimes after a blowup. The other 25% of my work is dealing with stress and listening to peoples' problems.
