In general most companies are still struggling here in Kansas. The firm that employs me is doing quite well, but only 5 of us. I left Wa 2 years ago, and many surveyors I know have moved businesses into their homes, or working for other companies. Many others (non licensed) are finding it difficult to find steady work there. Longest I've seen our profession slow in my 18 years.

About twice as good, then this time last year.

Thank God.

Worse, and not just for my business. My wife works for an HVAC company that specializes in geothermal; their billings are down $100,000 from this time last year and they've started lay-offs.

Significantly better, more big jobs, more municipal work, even more residential work. May need to pick another drafter up soon...

Glad (uh I guess) to see it's a regional thing and not just my personality rubbing potential clients the wrong way.

Much worse. Our income is at about half of last year after the first four months.

February, March, and the beginning of April was very busy, but the last 3 weeks it fell suddenly quiet again. What a rollercoaster.

Our residential workload is down some. Our commercial and industrial workload has increased significantly.

If any lowballers are reading, we increased our hourly rates at the beginning of the year and it hasn't hurt us a bit; quite to the contrary.

I don't have any hard numbers at the moment, but I'm guessing that I'm about 1/3 above last year at the same time. But, I'm like someone else posted, the phone was busy in March and April, and now it has fallen very silent. I have a few more jobs in the hopper, so I won't get stressy for a couple of more weeks... That's plenty of time for people to call.

So far January through April was down about 75% from last year. May has started off decent with a few good size jobs, but no where near the money I made last spring.
