I keep a package of baby wipes in the truck. Using a few on the face and neck during hot days of summer can be quite refreshing. And useful for cleaning up a bit in all seasons.

Same here, it is nice to get a bit of the grit off before I head back to the barn.  That reminds me I need to restock the truck.

Been doing this for over 30 years, mostly for cleaning my hands after a particularly dirty round of monument searching.  I also keep a container of bleach wipes (the ones with real bleach, not the gentler consumer sanitizing wipes) for cleaning hands and equipment after dipping sewer manholes.

I keep Tecnu in the truck, also sunscreen in the truck and 4-wheeler bag. Baby wipes are a great idea.

I keep Tecnu in the truck,

I have found that alcohol cleansing wipes are a very effective first line of defense against poison oak.

Ditto, they're also great for car camping and backpacking.

Call me old fashion. I just use my bandana and water from a spring, creek or my water bottle. In summer I almost always have a bandana to keep sweat from dripping onto my glasses. Don't have poison oak, or ticks (very rare), but cow parsnip is just like hog weed and will leave scars reacting to sunlight if you don't get it quickly cleaned off.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

I'd go for that option in a heartbeat if it was available to me.

Just my observation.

I recall a period where there were a plethora of pieces of clever body attachments that contained silica Gell of one formula or the anther. Neck wraps, hat inserts & chest/back packs were seemingly everywhere. I had several versions of a couple times that became a staple during the summer months.

Now, what I see is sealed devices that contain silica gel to supply the cooling. Am I to imply that having silica gel lay against my Carotid artery for hours a day is unsafe?

I mean like when, after 10 years of chewing on fluorescent pink flagging, as if it were bubble gum, while tying up a 3 lb. coffee can of chaining nails, I saw a label on a new box of flagging that proclaimed "Now Lead Free". Wait. What?

JA, PLS, SoCal
