Supposedly, less than 20% of us can answer all three of these questions correctly:
Surely more than 20%.....at least if you know that it's tricky. ie: a lot more will pass it if you tell them that only 20% can (IMHO). 😉
If that 20% is correct, we are in serious trouble. I think it's likely more of a reading comprehension problem than a lack of math skills. Well, perhaps both.
Pitiful.
Does that mean I am wasting my time talking to you 80%ers?

That's a scary thought!

George explains it:

I could see man-in-street scoring 20%. Not university students. I hope not.
The survey community had better do better.
I can see the first one being a little tricky, but not the other two.
Who knew I'm a genius......does that mean I have to act like it now?
Something here reminds me of George Carlin's famous quote:
"Think how stupid the average guy is....now realized 50% of everybody else is dumber than him."
...and how many people are able to think about the news.
After realizing how stupid I really am, I read this and felt a little better.....sigh
"A normal intelligence quotient (IQ) ranges from 85 to 115 (According to the Stanford-Binet scale). Only approximately 1% of the people in the world have an IQ of 135 or over. Genius or near-genius IQ is considered to start around 140 to 145. Less than 1/4 of 1 percent falls into this category."

Got 67% and answered and changed the other 33% right the first time but I second guessed myself.
I wouldn't call them trick questions, leading questions might be a better description.

But, did you understand it?

Puzzle 2/3, no I think it's
Above quote yes, it depends, maybe. 😉
Because I knew they were going to be trick questions, it actually made it easier. If I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have got them right.
As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives..............................................(a long story.....look it up)..................
How many were going to St. Ives?
Makes you wonder what the 80 percenters do in their spare time. We 20 percenters are so busy deriving algorithms and solving sudokus we don't know the meaning of "spare" time.

I've been spending a lot of time lately trying to figure out where in the world you can buy a ball and a bat for a buck and a dime.
