For the state specific, know your Alabama surveying history. The Faircloth notes are your best bet there.

I did a quick search on the Faircloth Notes, and I found a 20 page PDF file at one site. A google books page shows the Faircloth Notes as a 160 page document.

Is there a place one can find a copy of the entire document, or possibly has the ASPS put together a copy of the document?

I am not pursuing my Alabama license at the moment, but would be interested in looking at the document.
