So to day i may have wrapped up my project up Kingston MA way. The final setup was to topo the inlet and discharge ends of a culvert under route 3. I took care of the east side last time I was there but couldn't get my helper to tough it out and get the west one done.
SWMBO is a little more motivated and after finishing the marsh cross sections we hit the culvert. I had already set a traverse up on the highway and also (using the GPS) located the stilling well and did one cross section near the culvert. The canopy was a tad thick to get up to the culvert so it became a total station effort.

Oh yeah, waders and hip boots were the foot ware of the day.

I had seen that someone had set up camp near the creek but I had not investigated the extent of the "camp" or what else existed until today.

This is what I found.

Gas Grill, a marsh grass Yert, books a plenty, a couple of kayaks and paddles, and junk, even more junk...(nobody was home and I did not enter the yert.) I'm sure the umbrella covering the smoke hole is effective!

Living Large in Kingston!!

I hope I'm done. This one beat me a little bit.

Don

Somebody worked long and hard building that yurt. That place had everything one could need. Shelter, a grill, beer...

I've found much, much worse in the woods...story for another day.

Hey, I resemble that remark! (except I am certainly not damned.)

While I would not likely be one to use such an establishment, I remain none the less a long haired hippie freak in disguise...

So, there ya goooo....

That is wild. Too bad about all the litter.

Dawn looks happy in those waders.

I found a series of bunkers on one job out in the woods...Trenches that had been dugout and covered, about 50%, with plywood. A total of about 75' long.

So, the next time you're driving down the highway and you get a whiff of something cooing where there aren't any houses....you'll know what's going on!
