I tried it at least four times over the last few weeks, including the new update last night. I always rolled it back to Win 7 because of blurry text issues on my autocad c3d, Carlson 2016, Topcon Tools, and billing program. When I tried the new big update last night all my above listed program icons were missing when Win 10 started. I got out of there in a hurry.

Ans: I tried it and found the installation flawless, the mechanics not much different or better than Windows 7, and unworkable because of the eyestrain of reading text on my "older" programs which work fine with Win 7. I reverted to Win 7.

Thanks goodness the process of reverting back to Win 7 only takes 5 minutes. One has to wonder, though, how much of Win 10 still lurks on the SSD, waiting for my next moment of weakness.

There seems to be an answer missing.

Below " No, but I plan to make the jump after a service pack or two has been released." and above "No, I will never use Windows 10. Ever." is where I fall.

So I don't plan on making the jump any time soon. But at some point I realize that the computer industry will no longer support Windows 7 and I'll have to upgrade at that point.

That point is when I plan to move completely to Linux

I installed the "November Win 10 update" last night. They seem to have cured my blurry text problems. Data collector is communicating fine. All systems seem to be fine so far.

In the middle of getting a 'upgrade to win 1 1511.10586' on the 2 machines, that I have on win 10, win 10 home 64 bit and win10 pro 32bit, seems to be a 'major' upgrade considering to time it's taking to download and install. We will have to wait and see how all this goes. I haven't had any problems before, except the "hazy" text , which seems to fix itself back in early August and I think that was a screen resolution problem.

Curiously, both upgrades show a 2016 copyright date??

How is it going, Doug?
I finally bailed out of Win 10 again tonight back to Win 7. The computer seemed to be awfully sluggish in Win 10. I checked the RAM usage and found that Cortana was using 50% as much as Civil 3D.

Mostly having trouble with Edge the new browser that is the default with Windows 10. Edge does not support Silverlight, research sites such a Multnomah County do not work. WA DNR Survey Archive's viewer will not work with Edge and no fix is planned.

Nesting of folders using the cntl+D command to save websites to the 'favorites' is not working on my 10 machine.

Windows 10 causes some fuzziness in text displays on high resolution monitors. This fixable by modification of the properties of the exe file of the effected software.

Windows mobile devices app works much better in 10, having no hangs when syncing to the collectors.

I like the improved 'print' function in the edge browser.

Status update, so I still have not upgraded my new cheap laptop to 10. I got intellicad and Carlson Point Cloud on the machine and I have been playing. Is there a time limit on the free upgrade?

I'm using Win 10 on my home laptop, which has Civil 3D 2015 installed on it, and my only real complaint at this point in time is that the Edge browser doesn't support add-ins, including ones that Microsoft wrote (like Silverlight). This makes browsing municipal website applications just about impossible. However, I've just removed Edge from my taskbar and pinned IE11 in it's place - which has resolved my complaints. Other than that, it's great.

Window 10 Edge not working in support of Trimble Business Centers Style Sheet Reporter. Have to use the older IExplorer. The issue seems to be Edge's unwillness to open a .htm file.

I sort of accidentally clicked on something in a Windows 10 upgrade box today that appears not to be reversible until after the upgrade. So at 11:00 p.m. PST, I'll be dancing with Windows 10. I'm crossing my fingers...
