Help! My hard disc icon has disappeared. What do I do? How do I transfer field data to my flash drive? Is there any other way to transfer data?

My TSC3 is really finicky as well.?ÿ Sometimes a reboot helps like sirveyr mentioned, or reformatting my thumb drive.?ÿ But lately I've had the most success with a bluetooth connection to my laptop.

I installed a windows mobile version of total commander (an absolutely essential utility, first thing I install on any new computer) on my TSC3?ÿ

http://www.ghisler.com/wince2x.htm

Then I can ftp from the TSC3 to my office network, and upload/download files that way. Also great when you are in the field using a hotspot and forget a file, or need to send a file to the office immediately.?ÿ

Of course you need to be running an ftp server, but I find that an essential item in the office as well.?ÿ

When I was in the field, my practice was to reboot my TSC 3 every Monday morning.

Seemed to alleviate any problems.

That sounds like an excellent practice.

It makes it a very easy SOP when you need to completely power down the collector each day.?ÿ We still have some chiefs that?ÿ refuse to power down and only "press the green button" to put it to sleep...and then they claim that the battery is junk when its' dead every morning. SMDH
