I'm trying to hook up my TSC2 to the internet over wifi. DC sees all available wifi connections, but it can't connect successfully. Do I need network card? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Found that our TSC2 and wifi doesnt work well. Take forever to connect. Also for some reason cant connect to an open wifi, must have a passcode on it. Maybe this helps

To the best of my knowledge (which became obsolete years ago), the Wi-Fi module built into the Trimble TSC2 works only with the older/slower IEEE 802.11b version of Wi-Fi.
In 2016 it is doubtful that a Wi-Fi router serving a business would be providing that version.

Glenn,
Is there alternative method or no, do you know? Thank you.
We use a TSC2 with a MIFI card and on occasion the hot spot on my phone, we set access on card and phone to open an limit logons to 1

I believe most of the wifi problems with the TSC2 were due to the security settings. The TSC2 has an older operating system which doesn't recognize WPA2. If you knock the security on your mifi down to WPA it will usually connect.
I sometimes do what Dave Newell says, set it (phone as hotspot) to open and restrict access to that MAC address only. I don't care if someone can "see" the data, I just don't want anyone else connecting through my phone. But, the other person in my company who uses the TSC2 setup has a mifi and sets it to WPA, that works but it won't work on my phone. Usually not an issue as we typically use an RTK bridge, but we only have one of those so sometimes we need to connect using wifi from the TSC2. Now that I also have a YUMA (with cell service built in) it is even less frequent that I have to connect that way.
Now charge your batteries!!! [emoji1]
