I'm not really happy with the NCS symbol sets. I like symbols that look like what they are trying to represent. For instance my old LDD block for a curb inlet looked like a curb inlet...not so for the NCS symbols. I have found a number of my old symbols that I prefer and would like to continue using but the CAD consultant I've talked with says that using these old symbols (many of which were created in very old version of autoCad (like R12) may introduce problems.

Does anyone know of other symbol sets that are compatible with C3D that I could download? Thanks.

Bob

I'm no help either, Bob, but thought I'd say hey.

Where you been? How's that house full of women you live with? I bet you've been schooled by now about proper toilet seat etiquette...;-)

Gimme a holler when you get a chance.

I believe the issue would be that the symbol would not be defined in the C3D Style Table. If you just need a symbol, there should not be a problem. You or your CAD consultant should be able to define your old symbols in the C3D Style Table. It's all a function of what the end user wishes to do with the C3D file.

Well, the answer I guess is to just recreate the blocks, strip out the all of the old stuff (purge styles) and then insert them into my template where they then become available to use in styles... Gee that was easy.

Hey Mike. I'm moved out here up north to my new place now in the sticks, but I'm still around. I've tried to call you a few times but no answer (and I didn't leave a message because...well I just didn't really need anything but to say hey). I'll give you a shout.

Bob

Bob

I've been purposely leaving my phone at places where I'm not. We really don't have to have those damn things with us all the time. And they ARE so annoying at times.

We do need to get together soon, it's been way too long. I guess the last time we were eye-to-eye was when I borrowed your 4-wheeler...and that's been a couple of years. Way too long, my friend.
