I am wondering if I can get a straw pole of who has Carlson and balances their loops with least squares.
The firm I used to work for used Auto Land Desktop and the one thing I will say was easier was balancing loops. Thanks to Jennifer DiBona's handout I am able to do compass rule adjustments but would like to start using least squares again.
Do you use it and how difficult would you say it is to perform? Keep in mind I needed a handout to do compass rule :-S

1) Yes
2) No
I never cared much for Carlson's approach to Compass Rule adjustments. Not terribly user friendly. However, I have used their SurvNet and like it. It's pretty simple to use and gives good results. I like it because I can have multiple closures and cross checks, mixing GPS and conventional data without a lot of headache. I was using a 3rd party solution for LSA, but I think SurvNet will do what we need.
SurvNet rocks. I use it for combined static GPS, total station and diff levels. Much easier to me than StarNet or Columbus.
