I spent the better part of the afternoon migrating my office to a new Windows 8.1 with little problems except that my old copy of Adobe Acrobat does not play well with the new system. I looked at the Adobe site to see what an upgrade would run and see they have adopted the monthly subscription approach. I have only used Adobe and was hoping someone can someone could suggest another PDF creator/editor software.
Thanks for the help-
I like PDF Creator from "pdfforge"
Foxit PhantomPDF is a pretty good alternative
I suspect the problem is with Win8.1 which I've had mucho problems with on many of thing for about a year.
MS really really f...ed up trying to put a phone/tablet app on the desktop.
What the hell were they thinking?? I can not imagine.
You can try some compatibility mode but it never worked for me much.
That's my take.
I use Nitro products which seem pretty good.
Primo as a printer driver to print plans etc
Nitro Pro for editing etc
Www.nitropdf.com
You can revert the tablet mode to the more classic version like on Win 7
I use NitroPDF as well. Both the basic reader and the Pro version. Pretty nice. I have been using the, for about 3 or 4 years. Very pleased. Pro version was about $100.
I have heard that.
Do you know how to do that?
I tried the trial version of the latest Nitro Pro release on Windows 8.1. It had a kind of clunky user interface, but it worked. HOWEVER, it crashed pretty often, so I didn't buy it.
:good:
