For the last 3 or 4 weeks I have been having trouble with OPUS and the Datasheet web sites. Usually it takes 3 tries to get the page to load. I am working on my sicience project in OPUS Projects and it keeps timing out.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the NGS web sites, or is it a problem on my end.

Not here. Just uploaded to OPUS and got replies back within 5 minutes. Maybe a browser issue.

Well....I sent a file to OPUS last week and never got a response, even though it said it was accepted.

I sent one this morning....it showed up for a moment in my inbox and then disappeared.

So..yeah... I would say something is up.

Sounds like I am having same problems as you. Takes several tries to load page, sometimes have to come back a half hour later and try again. If it takes data than results have been showing up within a few hours.

I would not be surprised if the White House has something to do with it. In other words ... "THE SEQUESTER."

Doing it to spread the grief as much as possible, just because they can ...

It did start happening about the time Sequesteration kicked in.

could be..
I can't renew swmbo's car registration on-line with the DMV now because of Gov. Bobby's cut backs.
I have to drive to an office of the DMV and find my place on line literally..
take a number

or pay by snail mail.

So it is better for a budget to keep staff in an office than keep a website up?

I've actually had the problem of having to hit "reload" several times at ngs.noaa.gov for a year or two. I keep getting the "can't find page" error over and over again, but click reload enough, and it usually works.

I think they're in the process of changing web addresses, try:

from the OPUS team ...

Thanks for posting these problems, which I shared with our webmaster. I was told we recently had a new-format data file uploaded which jammed up the gears and required us to flip the off/on switch a few times.

A suggestion: "close and re-open the browser to make sure the page is not cached."

Usually, you should get an email reply from OPUS, an error message at least. The most common reason why email fails is due to misspelled/invalid address, though we have occasional glitches in other places. When we recognize those glitches and can't fix them right away, we post an alert banner on top of the OPUS page.

On our to-do list is a way to provide you more real-time metrics, so you can see at a glance if our processors have wait-times, or if trends for peak to peaks, RMS, solve/fail ratio, etc. are normal.

What OPUS performance metrics would you find useful? keeping in mind we want to obscure any specific user or position info.
