Does anybody know where I can find some linestyle files for autocad with the typical buried (and aerial) utility line types?
I looked around at some downloads and they all want to cram your pc full of spyware and make their website your homepage. Don't wanna screw with that.
What version cad?
In Civil3D, if you can draw it you can pretty much turn it into a linetype.
For simple linetypes you can copy something similar in the *.lin file and edit it to suit your needs. For example, The H/W hot water linetype can be copied and the H/W text edited to whatever you need it to be. These all started as copies of that linetype.

Paden,
Like Vern says. And here's a pretty good video:

Google "Corps of Engineers CADD Standards" and before long you will find the CADBIM site. From there you can download a fair facsimile of the US National CAD Standard, including the Corp's TSAEC.lin file. You will also need their TSAEC.shx file in your search path, and the text style ROMANS defined in your drawing for the linetypes to load properly .
You have to register to get into the site, that is why I haven't just linked it.
Paden, check your inbox for TWO emails. 😉
