I'm starting a project that I'd like to do in UTM18N, but I don't see that as an option on the Leica Viva controller. Anyone know if there's some way to pick that, or is it something that I need to download. Thanks

You might want to check and see if it is looking for the "Band" designation. UTM Zone 18 Band 'N' is down around Equator, Band "T" would be in the Northeast US. Some of the more "International" Software gets a little weird that way.

The Projection Parameters would be the Same for both "Bands" in any case. Maybe just set up a "User Defined Coordinate System," and enter the Constants.

BTW, Bands C-M are in the Southern Hemisphere (so UTM South).

John,

I tried to see if some of the default projection in Viva SmartWorx included UTM. The firmware does not include the UTM zones as a defualt. The UTM zones can be transferred from LGO to the Viva CS controller. If you do not have Leica Geo Office... email me and I can send you the small transfer file that would contain the needed UTM zones and the steps to follow. I can send just Zone 18 North and/or the two zones to the west and east of 18 also.

Mark,
Can't you restore the UTM zones from system ram on the Viva controller? Used to be able to do this on System 1200. Jonesy helped me do this on a System 1200 demo in Pennsylvania. Coordinate Sys > restore Predefined > shift F5 defaults ??
Been awhile...
