I use the Leica gps for a lot of my topo work. When I export the ascii point file it duplicates all the shots so that when I import in Carlson every shot is labeled twice.
I have narrowed it down to the csv file that is exported from leica. The leica point file only has 146 points, the csv file has 292 points.
Does anyone else have this problem, or does anyone know of a setting that I can't find that does this?
Thank you,
Dtp
I did figure this one out. export>settings>Classes> pick manual, and then Control and Measured.
I believe that I was exporting "all" and that was sending averaged and measured points as separate entities. Or something like that.

Dtp,
I usually see all of the Leica when I check the site but I must have overlooked this one posted over a month ago. Maybe you have already found the answer but I will post it just in caseÛ?.
Remember that in a Leica Job in the field or in the office in LGO you can have different point classes for each measured position. For example, say you have a point called CP1 that is a main control point. You can have the coordinates for CP1 that are classified as a Control Class which would represent the coordinates being held as fixed for the point CP1. Then you can have measurements to CP1 when you check to CP1 with say a rover or from a total station setup. These measurements can also be called CP1 but would have a point classification of Measured. If you have multiple measurements to CP1 from say a total station setup where you checked to CP1 several times during the setup. So you would have individual CP1 locations classified as Measured and then you would have an additional value for CP1 that is tied to the total station setup that is an Averaged classification where all the Measured values for CP1 are averaged.
This is why you are getting multiple coordinates out when you export an ASCII file. You have the export settings configured to allow multiple point classifications to be exported. You just want the highest valued classification to be exported.
To solve thisÛ?
1. Go into the Export ASCII application
2. In the lower right of the Export window select Settings
3. You will see the options window that has four different pages in itÛ? select the Classes tab
4. Set the Coordinate class: field at the top of this page to Current. All of the other selection boxes will be greyed out
5. Select OK to save the changes
6. Export the needed file
You will have only one value for each point. The value that is displayed by default in LGO is the one with the highest classification order. By default this pattern results in the normal pattern surveyors need.
