If you're running Win10 and your Carlson software starts giving errors every time you try a Carlson specific command, check your Carlson registration. The latest Win10 update is significant enough that Carlson thinks it's a whole new O/S so it will require a new change key. I tried going in and re-registering and selecting "Windows or AutoCAD Upgrade" as the reason but it blew up (it thought I was running a bootleg copy). Rather than wait the recommended 24 hours for them to review the situation, I gave them a call. I explained that this was not my fault and that I could not wait a day to get my drafting taken care of. They were very helpful and gave me a new change key over the phone immediately.
Thanks for the tip Stephen. Mine has been acting a little weird today. I'll check that in a few minutes.
On another note, sorry I did not get to talk to you Saturday. It was a little busy at the TAPS meeting. Thank you for your service to the organization.
I had to re-install dot-net framework for my Microstation to run after the update.
It also took 3 hours out of my already busy day.
Red Alert, revert to the previous build of windows immediately. I and several of my coworkers experienced random unexplained shutdowns that provided absolutely no warning and left you at the mercy of your auto-save settings. You would be working away snug as a bug in a rug and all of the sudden BAM! Black Screen, monitors go into Power Save mode, Speakers start an oscillating 60 Hz hum then complete power down. I even went into settings and set my machine to never sleep or power down to no avail.
I did the Anniversary Update a week or so ago, no problems so far.
I had the same thing happen with an autocad civil 3d program called SINCPAC
Had to get a fresh authorization code on two machines
Two seats of Carlson 2012/acad 2004 just went through the ver 1607 update. On startup, they both whined about some registration issue. Went to Help>About Carlson>Change registration and poked/hoped. Whatever I did worked, 'cuz the whining stopped and it's all good. I think I might actually like Windows 10......................... a little.

We had the same situation [REDACTED] in that it thought it was on a whole new machine and required another code.
No issues with the power side of things though thankfully.
