I'm finally upgrading my TDS Ranger SP 4.7 to a used spectra ranger 3 with SP 5.3, just curious what you guys think about paying the $300+ to upgrade to the latest version.

In short, yes. It is worth it. There are a number of bug fixes and new features, especially on the GPS side in 5.7.1. Keep in mind that if you are currently in warranty you can renew for 250.00; outside of the warranty is $450.00. By staying in the warranty you also get Spectra Precision Central, a free cloud service that makes data transfer easy.

I think it is if you run Sokkia or Topcon robotics let me get back to you as the RC search function was removed in 5.7.1 we think it's back in 5.7.2 but we are eating on our guns that are being calibrated to test.
