How do you go about creating a Trimble CSD file for use in a data collector that contains only the projections and geoid model that you need. For example all I want is the NAD83 datum transformation, Geoid12a, and the 3 Florida projection zones.
I have tried using the Trimble Coordinate System Manager, but I just don't get that program. I can't seem to start a new clean CSD file. I can't delete stuff out of the existing ones (I can only add to them). Am I missing something here?
I *believe* that those datum choices are hard coded into Survey Controller or Access as it exists on the data collector.
I don't think that creating a new CSD in TGO or TBC is going to change what is on the data collector.
Hopefully Mr. It's Magic will chime in and tell me if he knows something different.
What data collector and software are you using. I have instructions for the TSC2 and survey controller ver. 12.2 that I can share if you want it. my email is in my profile.

TDS Recon with Survey Pro 4.5.3.

Just sent an e-mail.
Thanks,
Easy as cake. Piece of pie.
There are a couple of variants in the process, however the simplest way is this:
In Coordinate System Manager (CSM), click on the Coordinate Systems tab. You will have Coordinate System groups shown as folders on the left, and Coordinate System definitions on the right of the window.
Select the File pull down menu and click on Export...
You will have the option to export:
All Records
User-defined records (groups / systems you created)
Predefined records (groups / systems built in to CSM)
Selected records only (hold down the CTRL key and highlight the groups / records you want)
Click on OK.
You will be prompted to give the export file a name. Enter CUSTOM as the file name and save it to the folder of your choice.
This wIll create a file CUSTOM.CSW
You can now either use Data Transfer Utility to connect to the data collector and upload the file as-is to the Trimble Data folder, or rename the file to CUSTOM.CSD and upload it directly to the same folder using Windows Mobile Device Centre.
When you create a new job on the collector and CUSTOM.CSD is in the Trimble Data folder, the coordinate systems stored in that file will be shown in the library instead of the defaults.
This works for Survey Controller.
You can also hide the definitions you do not want in CSM and upload all records.
Enjoy.

I tried your procedure, but It seems that whatever custom CSD file that I try to load, I get this error message:

I believe it should be named current.csd. I am traveling and don't have my gear. I'll check and follow up unless someone beats me to it. I could be wrong....
I was typing my first response before I learned you were using Survey Pro.
The method described of using a CUSTOM.CSD as a user defined coordinate system library works for Survey Controller.
I'm not a Survey Pro user so perhaps someone else can jump in...
