Does anyone know of a software that will let you plug in your data collector and have it display on your desktop, be functional etc?
Ideally have some screen capture capability as well.
I use My Mobiler for screen captures on my TSC2. It works great - you can even see your screen changes in real time.
I know it exists. Instructors at Vectors Inc. had it at a recent class I attended.

I use My Mobiler also, it works great and it's free. Soti Controller is a good one too; I think it has a little more capability. Last time I bought a copy it was $30.

Get with your trimble rep. They should be able to set you up. I had to download a program off their website, and then they had to get the liscense turned on. It took about a week.
We use Mobi Control. I did a class at Trimble Dimensions on this. We actually can run the data collector while it is in the field.

I wanted to use Mobi Controller so I could support our data collectors in the field... our IT guys squashed that idea.
IT guys can be such killjoys. It's all about security to them.
Believe it or not, they can make that secured. Our IT guys was dead set against it. Our owners saw the potential money saving using it that IT was forced to find a way to secure it and make it useable.
