Hey you all,

Wondering if anyone has run into this problem:

I have a drawing made with Civil 3d 2009 LDC 2009 (autocad 2009)

I opened that drawing with standalone Carlson Survey 2012 w/ Embed AutoCad

I create some points in there, save it.

I open the same drawing in LDC 2009 and try a few routines and get:
Autodesk Land Desktop cannot initialize because this
drawing contains objects from a newer version.
Refer to the readme file for more information on this issue.

Does anyone in here now any solutions for working between these two programs or have a workaround for this issue? I have installed the object enabler in carlson survey for working with civil 2009, but is it a possibility that the enabler isn't working for some reason?

I could be wrong, but sounds like you need to save CS 2012 down to AutoCAD 2007. If you're running 2009 CAD it should be writing a 2007 dwg file and CS 2012 is writing a 2010 file.

Wes

Yeah, I looked just looked at that. I have CS 2012 set up to save down to CAD 2007. It opens in LDC 2009, but doesn't allow any routines.

I suspect the Autodesk Object Enabler that you've installed for Carlson Survey 2012 is "upgrading" your 2009 objects to the 2010 format. This would then render those objects incompatible with earlier versions of Autodesk products that produce those objects. Unfortunately, it's currently a one-way door with Autodesk objects regardless of the version of the DWG you choose to save to.

If you'd like to call me and/or send me a copy of the drawing, I'll see if I can assist you. 563-583-8552 or lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom.
