Anytime I hit the LAYERS Properties Manager Button, it goes off in a tailspin, Unhandled access error. It does let me save a file for recovery. But, it just started. Any ideas, before I re-install?
Thanks.

Nate

See if the suggestion cited at http://www.carlsonsw.com/support/knowledge-base/?action=display_topic&topic_id=577 solves the problem. Otherwise, this appears to be a fairly common issue:

No difference. It crashes EVERY time I press LAYERS Properties Manager Button. No matter how I open the file.

I have this error on occasion, and I end up starting a new drawing, doing a copy of everything in the drawing, go to a new drawing, paste to original coordinates, and then save as the old drawing name. There has to be a better way. (I am not certain my error message has the exact same letters and numbers you have, my memory is nowhere near that good) Hopefully someone can tell you why this happens and a real answer to the problem.

I don't want to abandon "My" old acad... ie, I don't want to jump to intellicad. I have alot on my plate... and that always means getting me "broke in" to new stuff. That's okkkk to some extent. As I age, some things need to stay the same... So I don't stump my toe....

What does this mean?

Go to OPTION

PROFILE and Click RESET (Under Profile Tab)

I found it on another site, with another user, and that fixed it for them.

Thanks
N

Thanks Monte... Maybe we can get Bill Gates to pray for us... ha ha

OK, I'm in REGEDIT, found many entries for Carlson. Which one is biting me?
IF that is it.

Mine did the same thing - Never got it to work again. Installed the software again - Went through Carlson support.
We never figured it out. I learned to live without the command. Have to wait until update time, I'm waiting until Windows 10 has
been around for a little longer.

Here's what I got from Carlson:

1. Close the Carlson program
2. Click on the Windows Start button
3. in the search field type REGEDIT [hit Enter] - this will open the registry editor.

Once in the editor, carefully browse to the following folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware
Carlson SoftwareCarlson SurveyR2009SURV-8001:409

Right click on the SURV-8001:409 folder and choose delete. Close the registry editor and restart Carlson. Please note that this process will reset the program back to the default configuration.

I think something else is messed up, so I will probably re install.
So much for getting 2 plats out today!

I'M BAAAAAKK!! My Carlson 2009 works again!!! I am discussing an upgrade... not too bad on price. I really would "LIKE" a button, that lets me put Google Earth, in the background. (And move it around, as I please) so that anytime I want to look, I can see the points in GE. But, that's apparently not quite that way....
For what it is worth... This works:
Go to GE. Get the area of interest on your screen. Hit PRINT SCREEN button, (NE corner of your keyboard) Go back to ACAD, (Carlson imbedded) and just PASTE it. You can scale it, but not rotate it. Handy!

It looks like you made a Fatal Error Unhandled e06d736h and then the computer took Exception at 76b7c54fh. So you just need to figure out what that combination of numbers and letters mean. Did you try turning it on and off?
