C3D has got to be the most irritating software I have ever dealt with. I have been working with it for months now and still feel like I am getting nowhere (setting all the different labels up, parcel labels, etc.)
Any users on here generous enough to share there template file?

We have C3D 2013 now. All versions of this Spawn from Hell are and always will be called Civil Effin 3D as long as I live. If I ever meet the software designer who thought STYLES would be good for surveyors he or me would not survive the encounter!!! The cadd changes are ok. It's the surveying part I hate. I can't use something else because my boss wants us on the same software and we meed some of the map functions but I am the only one who has to deal with the surveying part and DAMNED styles.
CAN I join you in that meeting....grrrrr:-@ :-@
I've been at it about a year, and sometimes can make it do what I want, but many times I can't. I have spent untold hours trying... its complexity exceeds any surveyor's needs or wants a hundredfold.

NOT the designer, just a user... And the STYLES are VERY POWERFUL. They basically allow everyone in your company to adhere to company standards, because once they are created, it's FAR EASIER to use the existing Styles than to go off on your own. As such, they automatically encourage all users to adhere to company standards.
They are painful to setup, though, I admit... But very powerful, once setup.
I find the yearly incompatible releases to be FAR more problematic than the Styles. ESPECIALLY since your Styles can be broken when upgrading (especially when going from 2010 or lower to 2012 or above). I constantly rail at Autodesk about this point. At least at our company, we DON'T want a new incompatible release every year. A pox on the marketing administrator who convinced Autodesk we wanted this!
Are you listening, Carl Bass...? (And yes, I know he isn't... He'd never read this board. He's "too busy".)

The program civil 3 defeat is a goal with a solution as yet
For example a basic mine road fails to Null Profile lengths nulling out the corridor
After recreating the corridor from a earlier drawing 3** to salvage the work the
future saved drawing always sets the regions to 20+00 with five regions
ie
20+00 17+50
20+00 18+00
20+00 19+50
etc
etc
My response to the subscription department to down load C3D 2013 = yet more ISSUES no doubt.
Dear Sirs to Adesk subscription.
I have a problem with my corridor disappearing and
see no Corridor but a profile of Zero length.
This drawing works for most of day but when I open latter in the day
a profile is are zero length and the region start stn are all the same but the region end stations are
as should be
Please Please help me with this zero length profile and corridor shorted on region start stations
Well next year NO SUBSCRIPTION
OKAY OKAY so i have one corrupt drawing
Peter K needs ASA and lots
I guess this is why some surveyors are switching to Carlson. 😛
Yep - I've been given the go ahead, have just been trying to tough it out in the hope that I could make Civil 3D do what I needed. Fail...
