Does anyone get a 'Fatal Error' while using AutoCad Land Desktop 2009? This happens to me "frequently" and for no apparent reason. I've contacted AutoCad directly and tried re-installing (their suggestion) to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Pam

Is there any particular time when you get the error? What are you generally doing when it happens? Also, do you have the latest service pack installed......I think it's service pack 2.

No rhyme or reason. I do know however, that it occurs most often when I am using mtextedit or inserting an image. I installed the update below when it first occurred. I will try another un/re-install and run the update again. I use the older 2004 on my computer also for our GIS work. I don't run them at the same time but I do wonder if there's a kink being created due to that.

Thanks Pam

We were having a similar problem a few weeks ago.

Here's a non-technical description of the situation & solution:

A load of useless "proxy objects" were getting saved with the drawing and were somehow causing the crashes.

Cleaning the drawings of "proxy objects" did the trick.

(I'm not an Acad user so i cannot get more detailed.)
