Carlson 2010 / Icad 6.6
Windows 7

Anybody else having issues with their menus?

One of the suggested solutions to an earlier problem I had was using a command in the points pulldown menu to convert a .crd to a .cr5. The problem is, I can't find the points pulldown menu anywhere. The points toolbar doesn't have what I need.

I really whacked out the menus at one point trying different things, so I reset the program using the Reset User Profile utility accessed from the taskbar. Now I have 2 Window pulldowns and 2 Help pulldowns. If I delete the extra pulldowns, the next time I start Survey, The Window and Help pulldowns disappear completely. If I reset, then restart, I get 2, etc.

So far I have uninstalled / re-installed, did the right-click "Run as Admin" thing to the Carlson icon, re-set the menus, etc.

The original install was a download, then the first re-install was from the CD. After the re-install, the menus showed up exactly the same way they were prior to the uninstall. It smells like a registry entry that does not get deleted and/or overwritten when you uninstall/reinstall. Brings me back to the good old early days of LDD.

I was thinking of copying my plot style, f2f definition file, .dwt and project folders to a safe place, uninstalling (again) and cleaning out the registry. Seems kind of drastic for what I'm trying to accomplish. I've been tinkering with the dang thing all day in between trying to be productive, and it's bugging the hell out of me. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially if I forgot to include something in my backup list.

Rob,

Try this: Go to Options (right-click in the command line) and switch to the Profiles tab. Next, create a New Profile (call it ROB or something) and make sure it's the current profile. Then, delete any and all "Carlson" profiles. Then, close the program and re-start it again.

When you go back into Profiles, you should see the Carlson one has been re-created. Hopefully this will fix your menu issues.

Jennifer

That did it. I created a profile for myself a while back, and I was deleting the default profile & saving a copy of mine as the Carlson2010 profile. I was on the right track, just going the wrong way. Thanks!
