Does anyone know of an external GPS device to link with an IPAD that will provide accuracy of 5 feet or less? We want to use this for some data collection that only requires that type of accuracy.
Thanks in advance for any help

You can't use most Bluetooth receivers because iOS doesn't support serial port profile over Bluetooth, but there is a company called Sendaro (SP) using some kind of external GPS device in their Seeing Eye app. Whether this will get the accuracy you're looking for I can't really say.
Google search turned up this:

and

No experience with any of these and don't own an iPad.
Reliable 5 feet accuracy or less using an External GPS antenna with an iPad?
I'll make an educated guess and say that there is no such thing currently available that will come close to meeting that requirement using the iPad GPS capabilities.
10 feet to 15 feet in unobstructed locations might be achieveable.
There is a cable available that lets you connect a professional mapping grade GPS using the NMEA 0183 protocol "increasing the Location Accuracy of all native applications running on iOS".
Probably your best best.

I like it!
I am in the same boat, trying to find an antenna for an IPAD collection.
I have found this: http://gpsworld.com/geneq-introduces-sub-meter-gnss-receiver-for-ipad-iphone/
they are claiming 1' accuracy. it connects either by Bluetooth or cable, and is good for under tree canopy (one of my projects todo).
has anybody used this receiver???
