Since I didn't get to see them in 1973, I think I'll go see them this time around. It won't be my first time that I saw them. I saw them on their Farewell Tour back in 1982.

What nursing homes and assisted living facilities will they be visiting?

I saw them in 1973. Back in the days of breaking guitars. I imagine they just kind of bump or scratch it now.

I think I'm going to listen to this album tonight and I can't think of no better way than with my restored 1973 Marantz Quadradial receiver....

That deaf dumb blind kid sure holds a mean plumb bob

I caught them on their last tour (2008 I think) here in PA. They can still lay down the licks.....You don't see Pete stabbing amps and drums packed with TNT anymore, but still worth the ticket $$ I see they have two PA shows this time around, looks like I'll be seeing them again. 😀

For the $300 to $600 it cost for a ticket in Detroit, something better blow up. 🙂
I know I am getting old but really? I bought my first car for under $600. These guys should already be rich or are they still using?
Sorry for the whining, just jealous of any of you guys going.

I paid $6.00 in 1971 or so (might have been '72) for the Who's Next tour. At the Warehouse in New Orleans not 10' from the stage.

Okay, so I looked a little closer on Ticketmaster and there are seats for $50, way up in the top of Joe Louis. Lower bowl is $100 and up, Floor or anything close is $350 and up. The days of concerts at Castle Farms, Charlevoix, Mich are history. All the top rock bands where there in the 70's, think we paid $20 at most. Could sit out on the lawn and relax or push your way to the front.

Half the Who, playing outdated music, that doesn't apply to them anymore.

No Thanks.

I wish bands would just age gracefully, instead of trying to remain a teenager.

> Who?????

Yes. Not the band, just an affirmative answer. :-S

I would've given anything to see Keith Moon play live. He was something. If you've never watched it, or even if you have, pick up The Who live at the Isle of Wight DVD.

Outdated Music:-S as in that Bach is so old school? As Duke Ellington said "If it sounds good, it is good." Took a listen to the "The Real Me", still sounds good to me.

Good recommendation Glenn. Saw the Who at the Iowa State Fair in '75 or '76 and it was fantastic. Also saw them in 2006 w/Zak Starkey on drums and Pino Palladino on bass who were excellent replacements for Moon & Entwistle.

Over aged, over priced.

Children of the sixties, now the bands are in their 60's.

It's an interesting phenomenon, bands that grow old, lose members, yet still carry on. Some of them can still pull it off, others are downright embarassing. I think the Who (at least in their last go-around) can still do it right.

But to charge astronomical prices.......no thanks....I'll play the CD.

I had a friend (from California) volunteer to pay for me to go to the Pepsi Center in Denver... Maybe I'll take him up on the offer, since it's probably the only chance I'll ever have to see Pete Townsend live.

Still one of the best concerts I ever attended - Denver Coliseum, early 1970's) 2 hours 45 minutes of amazing performance with instrument destruction.
But I find the comments regarding old guys still doing what they made a career of and the outrageous prices they ask and get very ironic in the same forum of mostly old guys that rant about "lowballers" on a regular basis. 🙂
