I know I haven't been around here for a while.
Got the news Saturday morning at the dental surgeon's office.
Had 5 teeth pulled plus a biopsy.
Had the extractions done Thursday and follow-up was Sat. morning and got that news.
Official biopsy report doesnt' come in until Thursday.

I'm pretty freaked out.
E.

I don't really know at this point.
Maybe start a "go fund me" thing? I don't know anything about that stuff.
Maybe Wendell may know how to help start it.

Biopsy report doesn't come in until Thursday but the Dr. I saw for follow-up after the teeth extraction seemed pretty certain that "that is cancerous stuff going on right there".

It hasn't really set yet on how to take it.
E.

Well, that is always bad news and I'll certainly be thinking positive thoughts for you.
However, in this day, cancer, while still a powerful bogeyman isn't the true threat it used to be.
Modern medicine can work miracles.
Hang in there Big E. You have friends and science on your side.

Eric, I'm no stranger to cancer. Went through 8 weeks of radiation therapy and am as good as new. Subsequent my treatment with radiation therapy the Medical Researchers discovered Proton Therapy. This is a much more accurate methodology for cancer treatment and has much higher success rates.
You are a tough old buzzard, hang in there, and most importantly THINK POSITIVE and you will be fine. If you approach this with optimism in lieu of despair you will get better. Positive thoughts your way!

I'm sorry this has happened to you.
It's quite a shock, I know, getting that diagnosis, but the freakishness of it will wear off soon.
Like others have said, medical treatments are quite advanced now. Cancer can be beaten.
I'm halfway through radiation and chemo treatments right now, and it all gets very routine after a while.
My outlook is good, and hopefully yours will be too.

Eric, I'm so sorry to hear this. You HAVE to keep a positive attitude, you CAN beat this. Reading all the above posts you can see the positive results in others. Both my wife and I are survivors, you can be too. Listen to your doctors and take care of yourself.

Andy

Big E, Eric, its more will than anything else IMHO. I have a close friend of 30 years diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, 18 months ago. Normally they will not even give an estimate of life span, recommend patients go on chemo, get their affairs in order, and they pass on within a month or less. My friend went alternative course, changed diet, supplements, and will to live. He is amazing everyone, I think it is his decision and will to keep on doing what he wants to, like ride his motorcycle/ATVs/fly plane.

Hang in there, most cancer patients survive these days. Step at a time.

Eric, I am so sorry to hear this. We will be praying for you and your doctors. My wife went through lymphoma surgery and chemo in 2010. It was not fun but you have friends here to lift you up and pray for you. Keep your chin up and say to yourself multiple times a day: I will beat this crap! The most important thing is to take care of yourself and let someone help you if you need it. You will need it so let us know if you need help.
