Well, we did pretty good by getting it up to over $10,000 which should allow Wendell to do the essentials, but let's look a little deeper.
That $$$$ comes from 89 donations, but ....
We have almost 4000 registered users. That means there are a whole lot of people that haven't helped out.
You know if everyone would come up with just $5 each think of what Wendell would really be able to do with the site.
So, I encourage, yeah beseech, one and all to help out a little and make this site the best place on the web!
Word
Great Post. I was having the same thoughts about posting on this funding. Just $5 would be near $20K. I'm impressed so far about the amount of giving. I agree that everyone should give something. Be a $1 to the ones that can do $500 or more. This site rocks and thanks to Wendell and Angel for putting their time and energy into it.

You shoulda included the link in your post. It isn't always visible. Or at least not that I can see.

Good point.

Would have done so earlier, but needed some cash first. Hopefully we can encourage a few to chip in.
Great site that is well worth a few bucks. :good:
We really appreciate all of the support thus far! We are already planning things out and even implementing some things that don't require immediate funding. Once we receive the funding (about 2 weeks after the campaign ends), we'll be able to get the schwag ordered and get the ball rolling on the respective stretch goal projects.
That said, we are really hoping that we'll at least hit the $15k stretch goal. This allows us to attend the ESRI conference in July 2015. Please understand that we aren't viewing this as a fun, personal thing -- well, it may be fun, but the intent is to further market our brands in new ways. We've talked to ESRI folks before and they've even advertised with us in the past -- we're hoping to reconnect with them as well as other folks that would be attending the conference. This is a great marketing opportunity for us. As you might have already figured out, this could potentially lead to other funding opportunities that would allow us to really get things going.
We have lots of ideas about how to make this website and other related products and services better serve Land Surveyors and other Geospatial professionals. We're looking toward the future and we want to take you along with us.
Stay tuned, exciting things are happening but there's still a lot of work to do! 🙂

A very exciting update.
Wow that does sound great.
I've recently found out how hard it is getting to donate to worthwhile causes.
Tried to donate to the Mozilla foundation recently and had my money order returned.
I don't want to place a cc number online so i thought i'd mail a money order.
Searched online and the best I could come up with was a corporate address from their non-profit filing. Got a return to sender notification.
Not sure which of us is confused on this, but if my money isn't any good there what can i do?
Just donated my 100$.
I've already gained this 100$ with all the info found here!
I still think they need to add the PayPal gold radio button at the top of the page. To me, PayPal is the safest way to send money. This would allow contributions whenever on can do it. Also be a nice reminder that it costs money to maintain this site.
I know there is a PayPal link that can be accessed via the "Resources" tab, but many have not hunted for it. A PayPal button on the opening page would be a simple reminder. We should not put them a position of having to ask for assistance.
Yes. Also there is an option for automatic monthly debits.
I appreciate you saying this. We'll likely add it on the new website. 🙂
