I would like to introduce myself here as a new member!

I am a licensed surveyor located in rural southwest Alabama with a bachelors degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics from Troy University. Having spent the past year "lurking" on the forum it has been quite amazing to me at the wealth of knowledge a young surveyor like myself can gain from this site.

I look forward to interacting and learning from what I feel is probably a collection of some of the best surveyors in the country and world.

Welcome aboard. After a year of lurking you've probably got a good handle on things. Hope you learn and enjoy, Tom

Wow! Could you post the URL for that site? We'd all like to see it too..;-)

Seriously, welcome aboard. Two things I might mention:

1. Don't ever take anything personally or too serious.

2. Don't EVER get in a discussion with Kent about least squares or RTK.

Other than that, the field is open!

Oh come on, everyone likes to goad the angry lion. I'll just wait back there in the land rover.

That's sound advice! Though I was under the impression Mr. McMillan was the go to RTK enthusiast for advanced techniques of quickie dickie surveys 😀

You have excellent taste in choosing socialization partners. Education is the gravy. Having fun is the meat and potatoes.

Welcome to Beer Leg!
Being that Birmingham isn't really in Central or North Alabama, maybe I'm an Uppercentralbamasurveyor!:-)

As a young PLS, I still have a lot to learn but as far as having fun is concerned...I'll just say I know a little bit about that;-)

I use to live in Homewood what seems like a life time ago. I'm sure it's changed a bit.

It's a heck of a resource Lowerbamasurveyor and occasionally, very entertaining. 😉

Welcome on board and Go Crimson Tide!

I thought you might have been a former coworker, until I remembered that he lives in SE Alabama, not SW.

Angel, my dear

Where have you been hiding? I've missed your sweet appearance in your fishnet/kneehigh boots and whip keeping us all in line. Have we all really been THAT good? Surely not.

Haha...not THAT good. There's been some naughty boys!! :-O

I check in almost daily but I haven't had as much time as usual to post 100 posts a day like I use to do. I had surgery in December, then had post surgical complications that are just finally now under control. I was full of fluids and looked 9 months pregnant! (Sad when you walk through the store and get asked when you are due. :-/ )

Then the flu kicked my ass sideways. Bad. So I was fighting two things. I'm doing A LOT better now, thank goodness! But I have 2 more upcoming surgeries to deal with. Blah. 😐

I have also been training and taking classes and getting certified as a P2P Specialist for Trauma, Addiction, & Recovery. SO I've been helping others heal. 🙂 Plus I've finally been getting the house unpacked and put away, working in the yard, etc..etc... my list of "catch up" goes on and on.

I've missed two vacation opportunities due to this crud. Hawaii and New York. So, we're going to Vegas and Califoria for a conference in May. Then I get to spend Mothers Day with my momma. I can't wait! 😀

Here's my 9 days post surgical pic...told ya I looked pregnant.
o.O
