My name is Chris Dunn, and I fall into the board's Geomatics Professional category.
I am an attorney who makes my living applying geographic techniques and technology to sticky legal problems. Most of them have their roots in the early statehood period, or before.?ÿ So, I spend a lot of time with ancient script deeds.?ÿ I seem to have found a niche mapping in the gap where title companies and surveyors no longer seem to want to tread.?ÿ Most of this mapping work seems to be "one-off" projects. I?ÿalso make business intelligence, thematic, public health, and historic research maps for a variety of clients with my GIS.?ÿ
Please Note: I very strenuously avoid crossing the line in to the legal domain of Missouri's?ÿProfessional Land Surveyors; as I have great respect for surveyors and their craft.?ÿ
I am currently reading Brown's Boundary Control and Legal Principles, 7th Ed., and I am active in my region's GIS community.?ÿ?ÿ
Thank you for allowing me to join your group.
