Slowly but surely a new CORS is proposed for my Town.
I provided the DOT fellows with multiple Town owned locations and they settled on the DPW. Knowing the site, I asked where. Of course they chose the old filled stump dump! I sent all the design plans from the reconstruction about a decade ago. They asked for an as-built that was never completed (never requested).
Test antenna to be placed soon; borings to follow.
We had an HPGN monument set at the future site of an PW administration building, then promptly built a juvenile hall facility right next to it and buried it in fill.
I don't know how many times we got asked if they could dig up the lawn to occupy the monument.
That will be sweet for those of us on the lower Cape! When it gets running that is...
I do use the MTS antenna up in Orleans, but it is >6 miles to many projects. Plus, I started the big sewer project before CORS were on Cape and all my control is tied to passive. I have to use an adjustment to bring CORS or MTS data into my solutions. When this goes up, I will talk to the engineers about making a control shift (0.2'-0.3') to be able to use CORS and not Passive marks...
Do you think they will put a solid turbine on Georges Bank so we can mount a CORS and get some solid geometry? When will they have Nantucket?

Sounds like the Charlie Byrd Youth Corrections Center in Yreka?
