I run a Topcon Hiper Pro, and recently used it to log a raw data file (.tps) so that I could upload to OPUS for the first time. I use PCCDU software to access my receivers, and did not change any settings. Now when I use my receivers for RTK, they automatically begin logging raw data tps files. They only hold 4MB, so after a short period of time they fill up and I cannot connect with my data collector. I am having to connect them to a computer and erase the tps files every time I RTK. I've been caught in the field hours from the office twice, and had to quit. In PCCDU I have checked the settings in the MINTER tab, and have made sure the option to automatically log data is off.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

4 MB Should Get You Through The Day...

...at 30 second epochs. Nothing more is required for OPUS.

Weird. I don't have this problem. I have to push the FN key every time to start data logging.

This is what my MINTER settings look like:

Can you use the FN key to turn off the logging if you don't want to log?

Is there a setting in your data collector that is turning on logging? It seems like my data collector has a setting like that.

You might want to try downloading Topcon's TRU-mobile program (and TRU-pc for that matter). It allows you to download files from your receiver to your Windows Mobile data collector so you can free up space again while you are in the field. (TRU = Topcon Receiver Utility)

Check your RTK style in your Topcon controller. It can be set up to store a file at the base. Uncheck the box to turn it off.

Also you don't need to store static files at anymore than 5 second epochs. 1second epochs will fill up your memory on those old Hipers fast. They default to 1 second epochs when you use the fn button unless you change that in PCCDU.

At the rover there is two buttons to store an RTK shot, the one on the bottom right does not store a static file, the middle one does.

If that isn't it then clearing NV RAM seems to forgive a multitude of Topcon sins. Run the receivers outside for 15 minutes after you do that to download new ephemeris files.

Sorry to take so long to get back.... Thank you for all your help. There is a setting that I remember I changed. In the Recon Under Job, Settings, Post Processing. Changed recording interval to "Off". Going out now to try it out... will inform. Thanks again.
