Does anyone have a cable to connect a HP-48 to a Topcon Total Station (RS-232C) that they are willing to part with?
Email is in my profile, or use: surv8r AT yahoo DOT com
Thanks, David
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you...
I'll call a couple friends tomorrow. No promises, but I do know a couple guys that changed data collectors. I'm just not sure they still have the old cords. Will send email if I have any luck. What is the pin configuration for the Topcon your using? I'm assuming you need 9 pin to environmental case holding the 48?
Mark
No environmental case, plugs directly into 48. This is a spare unit I'm firing up, doesn't get used much. I sold another Topcon Total Station a couple yrs ago and I think I left my 48 cable in the case... 😐
Thanks for checking!

Ok i'll check. The folks I know are in Washington State. Environmental Cases are a must, with all the rain days. That does lower the odds a bit.

It has the soft case with a small hole in the end, so the cable plugs directly into the 48.
If they're interested in letting a hard case go with a cable, that's ok too.

I'll see what I can do.
The cable connection to the HP-48 was a weak link in my former Topcon/HP-48 combo. Didn't make a very solid connection.
David,
Call Tech Plus in Memphis, TN. They have at least two sitting on a shelf. I saw them about three months ago.
Hope this helps
Assuming the HP 48 is in a TDS or SMI case the cable should still be available from Hayes or Allen Precision. The
