To anyone who may know,

Does anyone know if the New York State exam is open book?

Does anyone know the deadline to register in 2020?

The New York department of Education has been tremendously helpful...(Sarcasm) and am looking for any insight to the exam.

Thanks,

You can check the NCEES website to see if they administer the test on behalf of the NY board. If so, the answers to your questions will be there.

When i took it in 2018, bound reference materials where allowed. I can't speak to the current application deadline, but i will say it took me nearly a year to get through the approval process, the department of ed was atrocious at assisting applicants.

Hope that helps, good luck.

Thanks all. @leegreen, I saw those deadlines. I was more so concerned that I wanted to make sure they hadn't changed and that they were correct. Its the new york department of Ed so I didn't have high hopes of accurate information being on their site.

?ÿ

Thanks again for the help all...

@mbrooksy75

As JD said above, took them over a year to decide that I was qualified to sit for the test, even though I was already licensed in two other states, and had over 10 years of experience.  Good luck.

I'm sitting for the NYS exam on April 17, 2020. As far as I know they are the same deadlines. You should think about taking the NYS review class in Malta, NY on March 27th & 28th & yes it is an open exam.
