I am tasked with finding a speaker for next Oct. We have had Gary Kent, Larry Phipps and Jeff Lucas in the past few years.
Think Colonial Surveying and who comes to your mind? Donald Wilson is local so we can see him frequently. John Stahl hasn't been here yet, to my knowledge; Mike Pallamary was here recently, too.
What say you?
Dtp
Dennis Drumm, LS and author of Primacode Transform.
Don't know if he speaks, but I'd sure listen to him.
Knud or any of the Keen brothers
> John Stahl hasn't been here yet, to my knowledge;
J.B. puts on a very good program.
> .... John Stahl hasn't been here yet, to my knowledge
Well, you gotta get him there then. He can raise everyone's hackles just as well as Jeff Lucas I think and he would be a fresh face. 😉
After our conference last year, I would pay to see a debate between J B Stahl & Walt Robilard (sp?) just on Dykes v. Arnold.
Foggy, this year one of our presenters was Wendy Lathrop from NJ, I would not consider her presentations, as well as Mr. Stahls to be regional.

Myself and others on our conference committee are tasked with the same. When is your conference? What is your speaker budget? Number of attendee's? Etc.
Shoot me an email.
JB is fantastic.
I've seen MP speak but it wasn't about boundaries or anything. Still an energetic speaker.
We had Gary K last year and although I didn't get to see his classes this time, our members gave good reviews.
One aspect I liked about both Wendy Lathrop, and John Stahl, is that they did homework and looked up cases and/or State Statutes pertaining to our State when they spoke here. This, as opposed to some speakers who might say something like "that's how we do it back in (wherever) not sure what your laws do....
Dennis Drumm is Chair of our Board of Registration and Knud is a regular for us. We're holding him for the march convention. Dennis does a great presentation on the Primacode program and the theory behind it.

Saw John Matonich at the PLSO a few years back, he was very good on business issues, wish we had had more time.

Completely Agree. Im not sure why every speaker doesn't do the same. It allows the speaker to simply back up their line of reasoning with "Well if you don't believe me, here is a court case from your local states supreme court that says the same thing" Yada, Yada.
Hands down, TED DURA...:-P
I'll send you some information about classes I teach. I'm in TX now doing a couple so I'll send info the first of the week.
Whats this for Foggy? For Mass annual meeting?
I like Knud...he is an attorney and surveyor...speaks out of both sides of his mouth:-D
Get a local RE property attorney to speak.
That would be more useful than some guy from 10 states away.
I'm in Texas also. Just a few miles from Kellyville.

Dennis is on the Board and he typically speaks regarding the State of Affairs of the Board of Registration.
Don, it would be a good solution to have him speak twice? Being on the Board, would he be able to give a lecture? I would be excited to attend that.
At least he would have some good war stories.
Wendy Lathrop has always been a favorite of mine. She researches state specific topics and is a great speaker. I used her handouts for years when she did one for Oklahoma on railroads.
I give her a 10 of 10.
No war stories and plenty of case material relevant to state specific issues.
She probably knows more about FEMA and the Flood Cert program then anyone on in the survey world.
