If anyone hasn't seen this course, here's a chance to go. I'll be there.
The cost is $185, as shown below. Last Saturday KAPS changed their policy to allow the discounted rate to NSPS members and the website has not yet been updated.

Nationally recognized speaker Dr, Frank Willis will be presenting a boundary retracement seminar about the forensic surveying of a parish line. If you have seen the earlier version, be prepared to hear the rest of the story. This seminar will deal with the efforts required to properly retrace a boundary line as well as the ethical considerations of business practices. This will be an 8 CPD seminar with lunch provided onsite.
When: September 23rd, 2017, 8:00 A.M. ?? 5:00 P.M.
Where: The Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Conference Room, 166 Upper Village Drive, Gilbertsville, KY 42044
Cost: $185 for all KAPS or NSPS members
I just found out that you have to mail in the registration fee. The website has not been set up to accept the reduced rate.
I would come, if they didn't shoot Yankees at the entrance. (seriously, it sounds good)

The seminar is a lot more than the base course that I presented few years ago for KAPs. Goes into some techniques and nuances about forensic work that are wild and that can happen on any forensic case if it gets hot enough. If the crowd is good for it, we will have a brief mock trial with some crazy cross examination of anyone in the group who wants to volunteer as the surveying expert. Highly likely that you will come out of that seminar with a different take on forensic surveying or forensic engineering. Should be a lot of fun.

Wow, this looks great! I'll give Molly a call on Monday to see if I can register and pay at the door. Don't think snail mail will make it there by then.

UPS is cheap.
I was at the first course at the KAPS conference a few years back and it was hands down the most interesting course I have ever attended.
I was also at the KAPS board meeting when it was decided to allow non-KAPS members (but members of the surveying society in the state in which they reside) to attend our seminars at our member rate. You really can't beat a live seminar for education, and those $40 internet PDH credits are doing harm to the advancement and education of surveyors. Molly will certainly makes things right for sign-up. Frank is a first rate teacher. I can't recommend this one enough.

I'm probably one of the lead instigators in getting the rate changed. I live 15 minutes south of the state line. I am not, nor have I ever been a member of KAPS. However, I have been a member of TAPS for nearly all of the last 16 years. I'd rather attend a seminar every day of the week and twice on Sunday before I take an internet or correspondence course. However, the $285 fee for non KAPS members was going to be prohibitive. I understand the reason behind the $100 surcharge, however, it doesn't cause those of us that live out of state to become KAPS members when we're already members of our own state's society. It just causes us to stay home.
