Start work? I know as surveyors that can vary, from day to day. But in general, what time do you start work?
7am. In BC, Washington, and Oregon it has always been 7am. In Oklahoma 7:30 seemed to be the norm.

That's a good average. In the winter months it can get closer to 8AM. As the sun gets up earlier, so do we. Has a lot to do with where the job is at.
In mid-summer we can be out of here at 6:30 and sometimes earlier.
7am - we work 10 hour days.
I'm in the office by 5:45, crews are in by 6:30 and out by 6:45
Being solo, it's whatever time I feel like.:-)

Same here, but in general I'm at my desk by 6:30 or 7:00, and head out to the field at 8:00.
7:00 AM
Office days=05:45
Field days, load equipment, leave for breakfast at 06:00.
4:30 AM in the office, but I go home at 5:00 PM period. I'm the only I know of that considers getting up to go deer hunting as "getting to sleep in."
6:30am
Pre-Children in CALI, ORE & Wash I'd be in at 6 or earlier. Crews in at 6:30 or 7am in the winter depending on amount of light.
Post-Children. Drop kid off no earlier than 7am and get to office just after 7:30am Crews still in at 6:30 and Im off at 5pm or taking work home.
8ish
Somebody once told me: you are going to regret that in the morning.
So I slept until noon; because I am a problem solver!
😀
I don't consider boundary surveying work. Its more a way of life that invades all aspects and hours of the day.
Topo and construction on the other hand, usually start around 6:00 at the office.
For the construction stuff I'm usually on site by 6:45 and by 7:00 should have the backsight set and stakes going in the ground. If I'm in the office I roll in about 7:00-7:10. (I'm the entire survey department, so nobody is really waiting for me to do anything if I'm in the office.)
I'll start earlier if need be, but generally that's good enough.
Since my name is on the sign, I get to the office nlt 5 o'clock. Crews are here ready to go at 7, but during the hot summer months they start at 6.
I'm in at 7, crews in between 7:15 and 7:30. It's a good starting time in the winter, and during the summer, the crews will work until dark if needed
About 9 or 10 am.
We need to get you crawling on your hands and knees under some mature manzanita in a steep canyon with 100°F temps immediately after it has rained, with no breeze, and a million face flies and mosquitos.
It will quickly start feeling like work.
