Went to the grocery last night to pick up some things. The place looked like a cyclone struck it. People are lined up at checkouts with buggies piled to the sky. This is at 9:30 pm.

The forecast is for 2" of snow tomorrow. Maybe a bit more on Sunday. It might not melt immediately. We work in the rain in the PNW, and like it. But it seems we panic at the slightest hint of snow.?ÿ

Puyallup is supposed to get 5" or 6" late this afternoon; Walmart was crazy last night. Glad I sent my wife!

I went to Walmart last night to stock up for us and for Wendells mom. The store was pretty empty, and had full shelves. I must have went at the right time! ?????ÿ

We're going to get a lot of snow up here in the Salem hills...I can feel it in my bones and joints. Phooey!! ???ª?ÿ

Im?ÿguessing from 3-6pm will be a complete cluster of traffic on the roads.?ÿ Honestly though I love it for only the fact that it slows everyone down for a while. It's kind of a quick frozen pause on the "rat race of life" until it all thaws out and we start back up again full speed ahead. Stay safe out there as most of us are just worried about the other crazy drivers that should not be on the roads.

These are the times when I appreciate not living in the biggest city in the state. Salem's not exactly tiny, but the impact of ____pocalypse events is usually much less here. We did have some craziness last summer with the Toxic Algae Bloom of 2018 disaster, but that was pretty localized and didn't affect Portland much, if at all.

Now I understand. ?ÿI am to get a survey done this week for what will soon be an ex-Bend resident. ?ÿObviously, nowhere near Oregon.

Man I'm glad it don't snow in FL. Floridians can't drive in the rain without 300 crashes on Interstate 4. If it snowed they would have to close all roads.?ÿ?ÿ

7day

Still freezing at night!!!!!!?ÿ ?????ÿ

I love the snow, especially when the flakes are huge and slowly falling. It's so peaceful. We're up in the hills of our area, so we're getting a bit more snow than lower in the valley.

I also realize this is nothing compared to what some of you get every year. It's uncommon to get this much snow here, so it's pretty exciting.

The problem with people out here who "learn to drive" on the snow and ice; is that they "learn to drive" on the snow and ice every year.?ÿ

For the record, no snow at all accumulated within miles of my west side PDX house.?ÿ Nada. Zilch. There were a few flurries, but nothing stuck. The TV news crews of StormTeam 2019 had to go halfway up Mt Hood to get their snow shots.

I'm sure that Daryl Moistner is waking to several inches of fresh stuff today up on the mountain.?ÿ

Apparently Seattle got all of what we were supposed to.?ÿ

We got plenty here, Mark:

This was the view out Dougies front door, Saturday.

SNOW20190209a

I've lived here for almost 29 years and this is the most snow I've ever seen.

It will be gone soon. If this was in Nebraska, it would be here until March...

We are finally getting significant snow up here in Lynden, near the Canadian border. Supposed to get somewhere between 5"-8" or so tonight.

We had one serious wind storm from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, though- started to take out my gutters. Strange wind for sure.
