Professional Liability Insurance

A company I used to work for had a professional liability insurance agen that would come around once a year to give seminars on ways to avoid liability claims. I learned a lot about contract language from those seminars. I don't remember what insurance company or agency he worked for, but I just Googled his name (Ernie Swymer), and came up with Wortley Poole Professional Ltd.

Has anyone dealt with Assurance Risk Management and have any reviews on their coverage?

I've been with ARM for 17 years (maybe longer, 2006 is the earliest email I have from them) for both general and professional liability insurance.  I've been very happy with the service, and get quick responses to requests for certificates and contract review. 

When I opened my own shop back in late 2008 I contracted my personal insurance agent and he was able to obtain general liability and E & O coverage for at good rates.

curious - has anybody noticed some outrageous premium increases in E&O/professional liability here lately? my policy is with Hanover for $2million and it has basically gone up 40-50% each year since 2020.

I am looking for a new carrier for Professional Liability coverage. The company I had for the past 4 years sends out a novel for a policy and doesn't take phone calls when parts of that policy needs explained to me. I am not sure what is covered and like everything else the rates go up every year.

I was on the NSPS web site and tried to call Assurance Risk Management and had to leave a message. I have called them in the past with no return call.

Has anyone dealt with Assurance Risk Management and have any reviews on their coverage?

Does anyone have any insurance providers they recommend?

I have been with the Klein Agency since 1990 with Professional Liability, General Liability, and Property Insurance.  They helped me with contracts and proposals to keep us out of trouble.  They are very responsive.  Probably not the cheapest, but most valuable.  They know the surveying and engineering business and provide good advice.
