My brother lives in N. Reading...

Thank God. Just think if he had been an untrained engineer...:pinch:

It seems like you should just be able to provide a copy of your engineer degree and the board should give you a license, don't you think?
> "He says he is a trained engineer with a degree from Wentworth."
He said he was a licensed surveyor, too. It seems to me that a good reporter would have checked that claim out.
Mr.Spagnolo called 32 land surveyors and took the lowest price. No the sympathy from The Hack..........
So...
What if the guy did the work correctly?
He should be prosecuted.
Don't quite understand the question.
> "... from Wentworth."
J. G. Wentworth? Thought he was a loan shark. Not a bogus Land Surveyor. 😉
and what if he did it better and faster...
Capitalism at work, sort of.

Looking through the Wentworth Institute of Technology Civil engineering syllabus there don't seem to be any surveying classes included.
Man... He said he was sorry. You guys are sure hard on him...
WIT has been in and out of the Surveying Game. I obtained a Certificate with 6 Survey Classes in 2002-2003, the most recent year they attempted to rejuvenate a surveying program in Massachusetts. The program is now very limited.
I am just curious. My first assumption is that an unlicensed individual is going to do something wrong. Reading his response about his lack of ability to pass the exam further leads me to believe his work was shoddy.
Every stopped clock is right twice a day (except digital in military time after 1200, those are only right once a day), so perhaps he had an easy time just retracing some previously surveyed properties. I would hope that the Judge would Demand that he pay for a licensed surveyor to verify / correct all his efforts. I am just curious if he did anything right.
Arizona did that for a while in the mid 1980's...
What is MOST Surprising
Is that we don't see this more often from all over the country!!!
I bet your local TV station could ferret these folks out pretty easily.
Note that this is being prosecuted to the fullest extent!
I am surprised that the "message in the media" does not mention the potential pitfall of finding professional services at CL. I think one could assume that his price was right for Mr. Spagnola and the possibility of fraud did not seem possible because of his good fortune.
I believe his website had the title "Survey and Engineering". If he is in fact a PE, I would imagine the BOR will strip him of his real license. At least, they should under 250 CMR 5.00.
He must have just ordered stamps with other peoples license numbers. Low.

He is not a PE in MA.
