It was 2 at the house this morning, a shock to the system since this winter has been easy. I guess the nasty stuff is brushing us a bit, the bad winter is in the Midwest this time. They can have it!!

Our Cedar Rapids IA airport is reporting -24 F at 9 AM.?ÿ We were out briefly last evening at -10 and that was tolerable if you didn't face the light breeze.
The town here is pretty well shut down today and tomorrow, schools and events, with -30 F predicted tonight. Won't be going out to check on the stores.
I'm recalling the worst I ever experienced, Christmas eve 1983. Minus 30 or so with a wind.?ÿ Could scarcely breathe even through a mask.?ÿ We made a 2-car caravan for a 180 mile trip, half on interstate 80 and saw 6 other vehicles on the road, showing how foolish we were to be out. People froze to death in stranded cars that night.
We have -24?ø right now in southeast Wisconsin with a wind chill of -54?ø.?ÿ All sorts of government, business and schools closings. Just got in from letting the dog out, it is raw. Guess I'll putz with the computer. I'm not looking forward to the walk across the street to get the mail later.
-38 here with a 5mph breeze the winchill was -58. Got the old K5 Blazer you see in the picture below started yesterday to move the white stuff though. Working from inside today:)
