I've got 35 years surveying experience and a two or three man crew with pipelining experience including as-builts, preliminary, and road boring. I'm fully equipped with Topcon GPS and total stations etc, as well as 4x4 trucks and 8x8 ATV's. I'm willing to relocate to just about anywhere within the lower 48 states, however I am currently located in NW Florida. Please email spmsurveyor at gmail.com for a copy of my resume if interested.

Sounds like North and/or South Dakota is where you need to look.

Ohio, Texas, WV, Western PA.... You can get hired pretty quick in some areas, but I'm not sure Florida is going to do you much good.

With that many years of experience I hope you are aware that contracting for construction layout requires a professional surveying license in many states.

Ohio Board Opinion letter regarding "Construction Layout Services" is an example.

Ohio Board statement regarding "Important Information for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors Working in Oil and Gas Extraction in Ohio" is specific to drilling and pipeline activities.

I hope you are able to find the type of work you are seeking either as a contractor or employee. Just be sure to check laws and regulations in that state. Relocating then finding out that state is about to take legal action against you would be a bad situation.

I know you said lower 48. Seems like we're always short good construction surveyors here in AK. One of the things that chaffs my @$$ is plan sets coming to me that require an LS to slope stake a road! SHeesh!
