While doing a PRM check today we came across an impressive fence post. I said "Wow, that's the mother of all fence posts!"

You're right about it looking like a brace. Looks like it's a fence post too because the barbed wire runs perpendicular to the brace and continues to another fence post.

Looks like hard ground and someone put an 8 foot post in the ground about 1.5 feet.

Skinny little feller needs more meat on his bones. Have a neighbor who prefers a minimum three-foot diameter hedge post that is placed with a backhoe into a hole it has dug, then braces the post while a concrete truck fills the remainder of the hole.
