Looks like the big boys putting their money in land . We are slammed . I got ALTAs coming out my ears . Everyone wnats them done before the first of the year , Wonder why .

Taxes?? Capital gains will likely be a lot higher next year. Incentive to sell now, need to close before Jan 1 or pay more taxes on the gain. So anybody setting on the fence likely will jump off and complete the sale.

If I were a seller I'd be willing to discount some portion of the likely increased taxes.

It could just be a local anomaly also.

There is also something changing in Estate Planning before the end of the year. I'm not sure what it is. I know of one landowner that is dividing his land for a trust that has to be done this year.
