Hi all, does anyone know if OPUS and/or CORS will be shutdown if the federal government decides to shut its self down?
was wondering the same thing about the FEMA site that supplies firmettes
Folks,
It ain't gonna shut down. This is a fencing match between the folks who make law and count on a votes. If it does then...well you know how to vote.
Relax....it's the beginning of the Champagne (whoops campaign) season.
Silly...but true.
Now back to your regularly scheduled......
Agreed, same stupid crap every year. Some years they argue more than others and wait longer. I'm surprised the press covers it as much as they do.

AVAILABILITY OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
-------------------------------------
Friday, April 8 2011
The U.S. Government may shutdown at midnight (EDT) today 8 April. If this occurs then the NGS website and associated services, OPUS, UFCORS, CORS ftp servers, etc. will be made unavailable. To try and minimize disruptions when the US Government shutdown ends,
automated retrieval of CORS data from contributing agencies will continue. Only minor
problems will be resolved, due to the limited available staff during the shutdown.
Please contact Giovanni Sella at giovanni.sella @ noaa.gov if you have any questions.
Not a problem
As far as I know, SOPAC will not be shutting down, and they have ALL of the RINEX files that I would ever need (or want).
That doesn't help you folks East of the Rockies much!
Loyal
Maybe for the good of all they will STAY SHUT DOWN (Not OPUS but the congress from spending money we don't have)!!!!!!
