Combining single .pdfs into one .pdf and reducing the file size of the .pdf. Then repeating again and again and again...
Drove half the day yesterday; brought two crews 5 hrs from home to work on two projects about 20 minutes apart.
So far, I have visited both sites, one twice, drove to Pittsburgh to do research, recovered some corners on one site, put out a "fire", and now heading to Bridgeville (south of Pittsburgh) to pick up right-of-way plans for one project. After that, I will be visiting both sites again before going to the hotel to do some CAD work.

must be nice... 😉
Well My Plans Are Shot
I am having a Monday on Tuesday.
Went out to survey a couple of small lots (6 corners to set). I had previously surveyed down the road and tied enough data to know what needed set and where. Went out and recovered control, set two of the six corners and the TS battery dies. Pulled out the spare battery and set an extra control point to work off of and it died.
Back at the office now charging batteries. I would have been done with that job by now and headed to another small tract that adjoins surveys I had previously done. I need to verify three corners are still in and set one.
I guess I will head out and recon another small subdivision lot that I planned to do on Wednesday. Then I can start over again tomorrow morning, hopefully with better results.
sleeping in...(done)
packing tote... (84 lbs)
mental preparation for summer... (Zen)
Dinner in Portland ... (Ethiopian)
First - Yelling at the CAD monkeys and button pushers
Then headed out to set two corners on one boundary survey and then collect some data on a utilty location survey.
Sounds like you are in my neighborhood. I am presently 10 minutes south of Bridgeville. You gotta love how they have PennDOT locked up like Fort Knox.
Yes they do. I just walked out with my plans. Headed back to one site before going to the hotel in New Stanton to do some CAD work.
Is your office just south of Bridgeville? Or are you in the field?
Ride down to Sioux City for bike stuff, then home.
Nope, in the office. You probably drove right past it. It is just past the Canonsburg/Houston exit. We are about a half mile from the casino. New Stanton is closer to where I grew up. There's a nice little bar with great food on the road heading from New Stanton to where the old Sony plant is. I can't remember the name of it though, been a while since I have been there. How long are you in town?
I imagine we will be finished and leaving Thursday
Yard work. I'll be back to work later this week.
making water run downhill. some folks think this looks easy, but looks can be decieving.
Large construction & large boundary: lay out grind & excavation limits on a runway extension, verify placement of 72" storm line and produce boundary exhibits for legal that depicts our neighbors encroachments.
Oh, I was going to offer to buy you an adult beverage and talk surveying but I have appointments tommorrow night and have to go to Clarksburg on Thursday. Maybe next time.
:good:
Office Day.
Truck's in the shop for repair - an oil leak repair and timing belt replacement. I'm catching up on my finances: income/expenses, statements for bills not paid, insurance payments, etc.
