We had a little bit of cold weather and some sleet here today so I decided it was a good day to get my new survey truck set up.

Going to put some weather seal on it tonight and then take it to get spray on bed liner on the exterior of it.

Had a fun morning building!

looks good.

Are you going to put a shell on top?

Just wondering since I have about the same project coming up.

No shell, that's why I am coating it with the bed liner. It fits right up to my tailgate when it is closed and I have a lock on that, so no worries about tripods getting stolen. I did look at getting a truck cover similar to the BAKflip installed but I will have to talk my boss into that extra expenditure.

I like the layout, but don't see how its going to be water and freeze proof?

I like the tubes, how big are they?

I plan on putting a weather sealant on and taking it to get sprayed with bed liner in order to weather proof it. Currently it is not attached to the truck in any way so when I take it to get sprayed I plan diassemnbling and having them spray the entire box inside and out. The pipes are 10" 900 PVC

Is that a 6' truck bed? Looks short in the picture.

December 13th is right around the corner.

It is a 6' truck bed. The box is only 4' deep. Allows me to store shovel, pick ax, and the likes behind the box instead of on top.

Here's a tip for drawers full of heavy stuff: use refrigerator rollers (pretty much a standard hardware store item) on the drawers instead of slides.

Excellent tip Kent. We used heavy duty drawer slides and put the drawer at the bottom so it lays against the tail gate when fully extended.
