50,000 pounds of steel would land on line with the access hole perfectly aligned?

Usually when something like that happens I check my calcs; it's a sure sign that something is wrong. 🙂

No need in buying a ticket now - you have already used up all the luck 🙁

I had a three inch junk tree about one inch on my line yesterday. My machete carved a notch to see my point. I could not have done that with a chunk of steel! Enjoy the limelight. It is indeed rare!B-)

I found this Lufkin tree on a job this fall. Lucky for me the ripe fruit was bending the branch just enough for me to squeeze a clean backsight.:-P

Do you need to be worried about refraction effects when you get a grazing line of sight past some obstacle? I've seen some weird effects through tree branches and meant to do some numerical tests but never carried through.
