I'm in the process of testing the WSRN here in Washington State (Thanks Gavin!) and I have a question about setting up a style in the TSC3. In the Rover options for the new style I have a drop down that lets you select the broadcast format for the corrections. When I first tested this I selected VRS (CMR) per instructions from WSRN and it worked very well. I had also selected store points as vectors. In reviewing the data (in the controller, haven't dumped it into TBC yet) the nearest CORS comes in as a keyed in point (I assume this is to bring in the vector). I used the mountpoint for a network solution but this is the only CORS I see in the stored data. I also reviewed the style and notice there is another option in the broadcast format Multi Station (CMR). Reading the help manual, Trimblease explains this option as follows: Networked single base RTK is also supported in the form of "Multi station" surveys with both CMR and RTCM formats. These surveys enable you to connect to a network service provider by cellular modem or through the Internet, and receive CMR or RTCM data from the nearest physical reference station in the network. So if I read this right, the single base solution is called Multi Station (CMR) ? WSRN has a different mountpoints for single base solutions so I'm not sure what the Multi Station (CMR) does. All I really want to know is if I'm getting a network solution?
TIA,
Doug
when using VRS(CMR) you ARE getting a networked solution.
The nearest physical base shows up with vectors from it to the points you have measured.
This came about from Germany, where VRS was developed and the government survey authority said....yeah...this VRS stuff is cool, but we REQUIRE a tie to a control point...
They then came up with the tie to the nearest physical base.
Rest assured, if you choose VRS(CMR), you are getting a networked solution.
I thought the Master Auxiliary concept produced a tie to a single actual physical (reproducible) point.
I thought that VRS did not do that.
Did this change?
Thanks Tom! I'll sleep better now.
@tom-bryant. Thanks, Tom. I've been looking everywhere for answers to this. However I still don't understand what the difference between "Multi Station (CMR)" and "VRS(CMR)". Can you explain??ÿ
Also are these two formats using CMRx or just CMR/CMR+?
